Lord Kelvin School Information

Lord Kelvin Elementary School is a closed campus.  This means all visitors including parents/guardians are expected to check in at the Office immediately upon entering the school.  Parents/guardians dropping off lunches, homework, etc. are asked to leave them at the Office.  The student will be called down at an appropriate time during announcements.

A closed campus means that once students arrive at school, they must remain on the school grounds for the rest of the school day.  Students should not be on the sidewalks of campus.  Students needing to leave early for an appointment must be signed out at the Office by the parent/guardian, and must sign back in upon return.  Students may not leave the school grounds without parent/guardian permission.

At Lord Kelvin, the day starts with limited supervision at 8:45 a.m.  The first bell rings at 8:55 a.m., as in the schedule below, at which time students should be lined up and ready to enter the classroom.  When the second bell rings, at 9:00 a.m., students should be seated at their desk, ready for announcements and instruction.

Students are expected to arrive on time for school each day.  Students who arrive after 9:00 a.m. are late for school and must first check in at the Office to get a pink late slip.
