"Bonjour, Bonne Nuit"

John Robson Elementary School held the "Bonjour, Bonne Nuit" event on Wednesday, November 2, 2011.  "Bonjour, Bonne Nuit" means "hello, good night".  In these events, the young children come in their pyjamas, with their teddy bears, and older children in the program read to them in French.  Then, they get to take the book home with them.  This event connects the older and younger children in the French Immersion programs and develops their interest in reading in French.  Parents and teachers guide the evenings.  Coffee is served to the parents and hot chocolate to the children.  Everyone gets a cookie or two!  These evenings help children and parents feel welcome in their schools and the French Immersion programs.  The New Westminster Chapter of Canadian Parents for French organizes the event and supplies the goodies and books.  We thank them for their work to encourage reading and making school fun!
