Statement from the Board of Education

December 19, 2013

As previously reported, New Westminster School Superintendent, Dr. John Woudzia, will be leaving School District No. 40 to take the position of Vice-President, Education and Student Services, at Vancouver Community College (VCC), starting February 3, 2014.

The Board of Education, New Westminster (SD40) is engaging in a two-step process to hire a new Superintendent.  To enable a seamless transition, the Board is working to establish an interim replacement in the short-term, until a new Superintendent is able to begin his or her work.

The Board has contracted the services of GoFuturesHR Inc. to lead the search for a replacement for a new Superintendent of Schools.  GoFuturesHR, Inc. has been leading the search for senior leaders in school districts around the province for a number of years.  GoFuturesHR, Inc.'s thorough and extensive process will help the School District recruit an exceptional candidate for this critically important position within the school district.

The Board would like to again thank Dr. Woudzia for his educational leadership and wish him well in his new position with VCC.
