About POWER

School District No. 40 (New Westminster) offers the  POWER Program, an innovative and unique learning opportunity for students 16 to 18 years of age. The POWER Program offers students from all over the Lower Mainland a meaningful high school graduation diploma and incorporates academic, career exploration and work experience opportunities, individualized support and instruction, as well as recreational and artistic experiences.

In addition, the POWER Program offers a variety of structured and self-paced courses each following the prescribed BC Ministry of Education curriculum. Each term, a different combination of grade ten, eleven and twelve courses is offered. Students take all of the required courses for their high school diploma. The program's educators are certified by the BC College of Teachers.

The POWER Program is conveniently located at 1001 Columbia Street, in the Adult Continuing Education Building on the corner of Tenth Street and Columbia, just one block west of the New Westminster Skytrain Station .  Click here to view Street Map
