School District No. 40 (New Westminster) offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, is a challenging two-year curriculum. Starting in Grade 9 and 10 with the NWSS Pre-IB programme and the Diploma or certificate programs in Grades 11 and 12, it leads to a qualification that is widely recognized by the world's leading universities.

This program also prepares highly motivated students for the rigors of post-secondary education. It encourages students to ask questions and to interact with the world around them in a meaningful way. This program not only teaches students but teaches them how to learn.
